Announcement: Call for Submissions: Fall 2009 Prattfolio, themed SPACES
of Prattfolio, which will take as its theme, "Spaces." The issue will
examine the topic from a variety of perspectives, including the
innovative design of physical spaces in the fields of architecture and
interior design; the planning of public spaces and plazas in urban
design; and the examination of virtual space by digital artists, gamers,
and denizens of the virtual world.
The issue also will examine the role that economic forces play in the
spaces that we inhabit. Has the current economic downturn affected your
work or living space? Are you inhabiting smaller quarters as a result? Do
you have images of the results you've gotten when (re)designing for smaller
spaces? Have you joined with others to live or work communally in order to
save money? What elements of design are important in communal spaces?
If your work concerns the concept of "space," and encompasses these or
other ideas relating to the topic, please submit a brief response, along
with high-resolution samples (300 dpi or greater), if applicable, to
erandolp@pratt.edu before Wednesday, May 20, 2009. After that date, please
refer inquiries to mara.mcginnis@pratt.edu.
