Announcement: 29th Annual Graduate Fine Arts Symposium to begin Tuesday, March 31

Seven graduate fine arts students, selected by a juror, will each give
ten-minute presentations on their work on Tuesday, March 31, at the start
of the 29th Annual Graduate Fine Arts Symposium. Critics will then
evaluate the students' work every Tuesday for four weeks, starting on
April 7. The schedule is as follows.

Tuesday, March 31:
Graduate student presentations, 12:30-2:00 PM, Memorial Hall

Tuesday, April 7:
Critique by Joao Ribas, critic and curator, The Drawing Center,
12:30-2:00 PM, Pratt Student Union

Tuesday, April 14:
Critique by Rocio Aranda-Alvarado, curator, Jersey City Museum,
12:30-2:00 PM, Pratt Student Union

Tuesday, April 21:
Critique by Eleanor Heartney, contributing editor, Art In America and
Artpress; author of Phaidon's Art and Today, 12:30-2:00 PM, Pratt Student
Union

Tuesday, April 28:
Critique by Lia Gangitano, 2008 Graduate Symposium Juror; founder,
Participant Inc.; and editor of the forthcoming anthology, The
Alternative to What? Thread Waxing Space and the 90's,12:30-2:00 PM,
Pratt Student Union

The symposium is conducted by Sheila Pepe, assistant chair, Fine Arts.
