Announcement: Safety and Security Department : Staff Announcement

The Institute Safety and Security Department is pleased to
announce the hiring of Mr. Dwayne Whitaker for the new position of Day
Tour Security Supervisor. Mr. Whitaker began on Monday, December 1,
2008. His primary responsibilities will be to oversee day tour security
and safety operations and will also serve as the crime prevention
officer. He will also assist in investigations and the overall security
and safety mission of the Institute.

Mr. Whitaker has 25 years of security experience. He served 10 years in
the military as an MP, Criminal Investigator and Hostage Negotiator. He
served with the UN providing diplomatic security protection details
during the 50th General Assembly of the United Nations, and served as a
Sergeant for 13 years at CUNY's Kingsborough Community College where his
responsibilities included planning security operations for special
events, providing student orientations, and providing training in all
areas of security including Conflict Resolution, Communications and
Customer Service, and Prevention of Workplace Violence.
