Announcement: Grand Walk Improvements Project
renovations to Pratt Institute's campus.
This renovation project will include significant enhancements to Pratt's
Willoughby Avenue entrance and to the Grand Walk, from DeKalb Avenue to
Willoughby Avenue. In keeping with Pratt Institute's focus on
sustainability, the addition of benches, trees, and permeable pavers for
increased water retention, will further support the "greening" of Pratt's
campus.
Construction will occur in two phases:
Phase I: DeKalb Avenue to Main Security Booth.
Expected completion Fall 2008.
Phase II: Main Security Booth to Willoughby Avenue.
Expected completion Spring 2009.
During the construction phase, and for the duration of the project,
please take note of alternative routes to use on campus. Wood ramps or
other directed alternate routes should be utilized at all times.
Protective fencing will be used to block areas of no access. Please
respect these restrictions and do not walk in areas under construction,
which are hazardous. These measures have been designed with your safety
in mind, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
The Grand Walk Improvements project is made possible through the generous
support of Hiroko Nakamoto, a loyal and dedicated friend who studied
interior design at Pratt. Pratt Institute is grateful to Ms. Nakamoto
for her commitment to improving the grounds of our beautiful campus and
for creating a dynamic and lush environment for our students.
