Announcement: Exhibition opportunity at Schafler Gallery for all Pratt students

All Pratt students are invited to submit work for a unique
exhibition opportunity in the Schafler Gallery this spring.

The Schafler Gallery, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn will host "Politics and
Media: Pratt Students Respond," a multi-disciplinary Pratt student
exhibition inspired by the Pratt Manhattan Gallery exhibitions "Party
Headquarters: Voting is Just the Beginning" and "Zones of Conflict" or
the theme in general. This exciting exhibition is an open call to all
students to submit work.

As the 2008 Presidential election approaches, the Department of
Exhibitions is encouraging students to produce work that relates to the
elections and to the 2008/09 Pratt Manhattan Gallery exhibition season
"Politics and Media." Three exhibitions will take place in the Manhattan
Gallery that integrate with this topic from September through February:

Theme: "Politics and Media: Pratt Students Respond"
February 27-March 18, 2009

Eleanor Heartney and Larry Litt, guest-curators, "Party Headquarters:
Voting is Just the Beginning," currently at Pratt Manhattan Gallery, will
jury the exhibition for prizes and also be involved in a guest critique
of the student work.

1st prize $200
2nd prize $150
3rd prize $100
and honorable mentions

Each student is invited to submit one piece or a small series in any
media to the exhibition. Work should be brought to the Schafler Gallery,
Chemistry building, 1st floor, Brooklyn campus.

Drop off deadline for work: Thursday, February 18 at 4pm.

All submitted work should be clearly marked with the student's name and
contact information. There will also be a loan card for you to fill out
upon drop off of the work. Due to our need to properly layout the
exhibition, space limitations, and a tight installation schedule, late
work will not be able to be included in the exhibition.
