Artists, Designers and Architect Speak on Writing
Another Part of Their Art
Career Services and Writing Across the Curriculum have
put together a two-part event for students.
Thursday October 16th from 6-8 pm
in the Alumni Reading Room
a panel made up of artists, designers and architect
will discuss the role writing plays in their work.
Panelists are:
EMILIE BALTZ is the Manager of Visual Brand
Strategy at Aruliden in New York City and a
contributing design editor to Core77.com.
CLAUDIA HERBST-TAIT is an Associate Professor in the
Department of Digital Arts and the author of Sexing Code: Subversion,
Theory and Representation.
FILIP TEJCHMAN is an Architect and Visiting Professor at the Pratt
Institute School of Architecture. He is a contributing Editor to the
Praxis Journal of Writing and Building.
GRACE BONNEY is the founder of Design*Sponge and a contributing editor at
Domino and Craft Magazine.
NELSON HANCOCK is the Coordinator of the Critical and Visual Studies
program at Pratt and curated dozens of photography exhibitions at Nelson
Hancock Gallery from 2004-2008.
Second Part : Workshop
On Thursday October 23rd from 6-8 pm,
also in the Alumni Reading Room,
WAC faculty will conduct a workshop
in which students will develop the
skills the artists and designers
discussed on the panel.
We hope the workshop will give you practical skills and valuable resource
that serve you throughout your professional future.
