Announcement: Around the World with Ted and Betsy Lewin

Around the World with Ted and Betsy Lewin

Reception: Thursday October 30th, 5-7pm. Library, Alumni Reading Room
(3rd floor)

"Around the World with Ted and Betsy Lewin," an exhibit scheduled to open
at Pratt Institute Library on October 30, features the work of children's
book illustrators and Pratt alumni Ted and Betsy R. Lewin, whose careers
as award-winning illustrators have spanned half a century. During this
time they have worked, both separately and as collaborators, on over one
hundred books for children and young adults. The Lewins, who met as
students at Pratt in the 1950's and have been married since 1963, live a
block from the Pratt campus in a brownstone which they own and where each
keeps a studio. A number of their books have been based on their
extensive travels all around the world, as they found inspiration in
places such as the Amazon, Africa, Lapland, the Sahara, and India.
"Around the World with Ted and Betsy Lewin" will offer a sampling of
their books, alongside accompanying sketches and a selection of mementos
that they have acquired on their expeditions.

Please join us for the opening night reception to be held in the Alumni
Reading Room on the third floor of the Pratt Institute Library on October
30, 5-7 PM.
