Announcement: Pratt Alumnus Mark T. Smith - an official artist of the Summer Olympics - to be interviewed on NBC's Today Show on Wednesday
Mark T. Smith, Pratt communications design alumnus '90, will be appearing
on NBC Channel 4's Today in New York program at approximately 6:20 a.m.
this Wednesday, July 30, to talk about his selection by the U.S. Olympic
Committee to be an official artist of the 2008 Summer Olympics in
Beijing, China. His original painting depicts a vibrant blue dragon
breathing fire onto the Olympic torch and is set to be exhibited at this
summer's games.
Please join the Pratt community in supporting Mark, who has received
commissions from the Walt Disney Company, Absolut Vodka, MTV, Pepsi,
AT&T, and Budweiser since graduating from Pratt's Brooklyn Campus. He has
had work exhibited in numerous shows including Art Basel, and has had
work purchased by celebrities Jay Leno, Neil Diamond, and Elton John.
The official Olympic work was unveiled in New York City in February, 2008.
