Announcement: Pratt Hosts First Educational Technology Brown Bag Lunch - March 26

In an effort to provide spaces for faculty to share experiences and
resources in the effective use and integration of technology into the
classroom, all faculty members are invited to the launch of the
Educational Technology Brown Bag Lunches.

Each brown bag lunch will feature Pratt faculty talking about software
applications, websites or other technological tools that have enhanced
their teaching or brought innovation to the classroom.

The sessions will take place on the last Wednesday of every month
(Fall/Spring) in the large faculty lounge at the Cafeteria. They begin
at 12:30 PM and last an hour. Bring your lunch and participate in the
discussion.

Title: Tap into our Students Creative Powers with Garage Band

Presenter: Ellen Scott"Foundation Faculty

Summary: Rock your class! Garage Band is a powerful teaching tool that
allows students to record and play multiples tracks of audio for different
purposes"music, foreign language learning, etc. This tool helps students
make the connection between content, the creative process, and technology.
Introducing Garage Band early in the Foundation 4D course empowers students
and improves their grasp of concepts and technical skills. The session
includes a demonstration of the software and a discussion of the
instructors experience integrating it as a tool in the classroom.
