Announcement: Construction Alert: Brooklyn Campus

In an effort to further enhance and beautify the Brooklyn
campus, Pratt will begin construction work on South Walk along the Grand
Mall, starting Tuesday, March 25. Construction is expected to be
completed by early May.

South Walk-which runs in front of the Juliana Curran Terian Design Center
and alongside ELJ and Pantas Halls, connecting Grand Avenue to Ryerson
Walk-will be converted to a narrow brick walkway, and will be lined with
new trees and plants, as well as benches and lamps.

During construction, pedestrians are asked to use North Walk, which runs
along the northern side of the Grand Mall, next to South Hall. To enter
Pantas and Ester Lloyd Jones (ELJ) halls, please use the Ryerson Walk
entrance at ELJ. The administration apologizes for any inconvenience this
construction may cause.

This campus beautification project is made possible by a generous gift
from Pratt alumnus and Trustee Emeritus Bruce Newman (Interior Design,
'53). A previous donation by Newman enabled the creation of the Bruce
Newman Amphitheatre on the north side of Grand Mall between South and
East halls in 1988. A subsequent contribution supported the creation of a
landscaped plaza adjacent to the amphitheatre in 2005.
