Announcement: Attention Graduate Students - Job Opportunity

The Resident Director position allows graduate students to gain
experience with supervision and management while working on-campus. The
RD is the primary administrator of a residence hall. The RD directly
supervises a staff of four to seven Resident Advisors (RA). RDs work
closely with the Central Office staff, RAs and students to develop
community in the residence halls and to administer the housing, safety
and maintenance aspects of the hall. In addition to frequent contact with
students, RDs act as liaisons with Institute services; encourage student
leadership; and facilitate the students educational, personal and social
growth.
The RD position is available to full-time graduate students in good
standing with the Institute. Previous experience in residential life,
teaching, counseling, or work with young adults in social and/or
educational setting is preferred.
RD duties occupy approximately 20 hours per week. The position is from
August 1, 2008 to May 14, 2009. In addition to many intrinsic rewards,
compensation includes a $6500 stipend, waiver for of a $1400 meal plan
and rent waiver for a studio apartment.
