Announcement: Brooklyn vs. Baltimore: Pratt/MICA Student Sculpture Exhibition
Please join us for the opening reception for "Brooklyn vs. Baltimore:
Pratt/MICA Student Sculpture Exhibition," a juried exhibition that
strives to broaden perspectives on the topic of sculpture by students
from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY and the Maryland Institute College of
Art, Baltimore, Maryland.
The exhibition continues through December 21.
Gallery hours: Monday - Friday, 9-5pm
Free and open to the public
The show was juried by Gabriel Martinez, a graduate student at Columbia
University, who has curated shows in Maryland and Virginia and has helped
to run the non-profit Washington D.C. gallery space Decatur Blue since
2001.
Mary Ceruti, executive director of SculptureCenter in Long Island City,
will lead a critique and discussion of the exhibition on Tuesday,
December 4 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public
Coordinated by Kirsten Campbell, sculpture faculty, Pratt Institute and
Ledelle Moe, sculpture faculty, Maryland Institute College of Art and the
Pratt Department of Exhibitions.
Participating Pratt students include: Sarah Boatright, Emily Boismain,
Lindsay D'Addato, Jon Day, Jacob Gossett, Yehudis Harris, Brittany
Janaszak, Evan Robarts, Deirdre Sargent, Rachel Steinberg, Anna Thompson,
Aldrin Valdez, and Christopher VanDoren.
Participating MICA students include: Jaime Bennati, Janet Braunstein,
Michael Chamberlain, Jaime Freedman, Alison Mazur, Rachel Nefcy, Michel
Tallichet, Niel Reinalda, Adam Vorozilchak, May Wilson.
